‘table’ by silo

UK-based design studio silo composed of attua aparicio and oscar wanless adapt industrial materials to be used in a more simplistic, expressive and craft-like manner. the duo’s works are formed by hand while still maintaining a notably high tech look.

their project, ‘table’ is grown from polystyrene which the studio moulds into trunks. the polystyrene structure is crafted from layers of NSEPS sticks of various colors. once these trunks are fully grown, the designers cut, join and process the material as if it were lumber. the end result is an aesthetic that carries granite, wood and plastic motifs.
