rethinking the order objects are generated in, the ‘reversed process furniture’ series by austrian designer philipp aduatz flips his normal stages back to front. usually, aduatz starts with an initial idea or a vision followed by sketches and first attempts on visualizations of what he is hoping to achieve. the project instead begins with transforming an object that is purchased in a store and then adding or subtracting material from it. the structure is covered with papier-mâché, a very versatile material that can easily be shaped into different geometries. the finish uses both dull and high-glossy parts within the one surface, exposing a contrast between the two. after applying the final layer, the shape is then revealed, instead of being at the beginning the process has been reversed.

the pieces will be on display at ventura lambrate during the milan design week 2014.
