‘through the looking glass’ is a collection of fine printed silks and glass objects by london-based product designer bilge nur saltik and design-duo rive·roshan. the pieces work together to go beyond the surface and expose what lies beneath – the ring is applied to refract one’s vision, showing the detail of the weave and the resolution of the print. it distorts the patterns into wild, unpredictable shapes and colors.

‘the scarves have been designed as abstracted visions of nature’s perfection. the rings are designed to question it.’ says the designers.

made from fine silk, the scarves have graphic patterns across them and are digitally printed in england, while the almost invisible rings are handmade by glassmakers and jewelers in istanbul. the ‘through the looking glass collection’ was presented during milan design week 2014 at the ventura lambrate team-up, form&seek presents layers exhibition.
