The portable serving surface ‘quattro muri e due case’ which literally translates from Italian to English as ‘four walls and two houses’, presents just that. The walls which are the four sides of the design, stop items from sliding off its top, and are interrupted on their short ends by two ‘cottages’ which serve as handles. It is a tray made of bamboo, but also a landscape that is a little bit frugal, a little bit rural… It is practical, but yet tells the narrative of a farmer. What will he use his rectangular shape of land for? Build a wall of stones? A shed of tools? A place in which to store his harvest.
