invited to participate in the renovation project of the musée d’orsay in paris, japanese designer tokujin yoshioka‘s glass bench ‘water block’ has been installed within the museum’s impressionist gallery alongside of works of art by master painters manet, degas, monet, cézanne and renoir. the placement of the seating object whose surface mimicks rippling water, is quite fitting placed within the space, reflecting the subjects of the paintings on display, offering a harmonious interaction between history and the present day.
