AUDI has debuted the ‘allroad shooting brake’ crossover concept at the north american international auto show in detroit. the plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 408 horsepower drive system capable of producing 479.42 lb-ft of torque and launching from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds. for the the first time, AUDI has combined the form languages from the allroad and e-tron into the shooting brake concept; as on every AUDI, the large hexagonal single-frame grille dominates on the impressive sculptural front, slightly offset towards the rear of the body. with looks similar to the AUDI TT, the concept is also typical of an e-tron model; the two-foor crossover has an insert with narrow fins, which resemble the cooling ribs of an electronic component.

the concept features short overhangs, with its low roof line stretching over the vehicle body. typical of the shooting brake style, it descends early and runs out into the distinctive C-pillars.

horizontal, logically sequenced lines define the outlines of clean surfaces and taut volumes; the styling of the tail lights takes up the motif of the headlights. a diffuser integrates the two large exhaust tailpipes.

the interior configuration of the show car utilizes anthracite and rock grey colors and materials such as alcantara rooflining and various leather and aluminum materials that are used for controls and trim, air nozzles and the spokes of the multifunction steering wheel. the cockpit features a 12.3 inch TFT display that provides all driver information in three-dimensions that offers a variety of driving modes.
