digital art at the infiniti center in stockport

this week brings the opening of the first of the new INFINITI centers in stockport (manchester, UK)… and along with it, the exhibition of the six stunning digital media pieces and sculptures that are finalists in designboom’s INFINITI digital art competition!

the new stockport INFINITI center adopts the look of a boutique hotel, welcoming visitors from october 14th through 18th with not only an exhibition of the latest range of INFINITI cars, but also the finalists of the first round of the digital art competition, to which over 500 people from all ages and talents across the globe registered to create a new media work reflecting the theme ‘inspired performance’.

at the ‘INFINITI reveal’ gallery, the ‘value added’ monument by jan ziska and juraj rattaj greets visitors on arrival. within the centers, visitors encounter ‘synthesized by nature’ by jackson tayler, ‘infiniti passion’ by shinji nukumi, ‘crystalline DNA’ by brano hlavac, ‘highway of light’ by bob trempe and roman torres, and ‘presence’ by sanchit sawari and palash singh. video presentations about each of the designs will also be on display.

all visitors to the ‘INFINITI reveal’ gallery are eligible to vote for their favourite work on exhibition, to determine who from the ‘inspired performance’ round will win the 10,000 euro first prize.

after the stockport grand opening on october 13th, the gallery will be presented in leeds, UK, from october 21st through 28th, with future locations in europe to be announced soon.
