scuola politecnica di design (SPD) in milan is one of the oldest schools of design, who since 1954 has been working within the italian design scene, aiding its development and shaping it into what we know it as today. artist nino di salvatore founded the school back in 1954, bringing together artists, designers, professionals and students from around the world to work and study at the renowned institution. previous professors include bruno munari, gio ponti, max huber, pino tovaglia, isao hosoe, and has seen such guest lecturers and professors as achille castiglioni, donald norman and tomato.

today, training the new and upcoming talent are contemporary design greats andrea branzi, stefano giovannoni,  piero lissoni and denis santachiara.

for those interested in pursuing their masters in the design capital of the world, SPD would like to award five full tuition scholarships to young design talent to attend the school for the calendar year of 2011-2012 (the course would commence in october 2011 and is taught in english).

in collaboration with designboom, SPD is offering one full paid placement in each of their master’s programs: master’s in industrial design master’s in interior design master’s in visual design master’s in transportation and car design master’s in web design and multimedia (*please note: the scholarship only includes tuition, and selected individuals would need to support their own costs of daily living, transportation, housing etc.)
