the ‘quack’ cabinet is dutch-belgian design duo studio job‘s (nynke tynagel and job smeets) newest furniture object. the storage unit presents smeets and tynagel’s signature interest in the traditional veneer application technique of marquetry. the imagery executed in this artistic craft practice is the anatomy and bone structure of a human torso, in which veins and arteries extend outward to cover the surface of the cabinet, resulting in a somewhat abstract aesthetic, with surgical tools and bones interspersed.
