japanese publication SHIFT magazine presents DOTMOV festival 2011, a digital film event which aims to discover unknown creators and provide them with an opportunity to show their works. for individuals interested in exhibiting their projects, the submission period is currently open until september 10th, 2011. prize-winning works or those submitted to other contests in japan, as well as abroad are accepted. regardless of nationality and open to both professionals and amateurs, the animation, images, sounds, music, text and illustrations submitted must all be original. the theme is completely open and individuals / groups are allowed to enter as many projects they want.

this year’s guest judges include: kenta torimoto, SHIFT china’s editor in chief ian anderson, the designers republic motion theory yoshi sodeoka, C505 jiro ohashi, salmagazine.org editor kiyoung park, sugarcube david linderman, creative direction, hi-res!

the 2011 DOTMOV festival will take place at various venues across japan (sapporo, sendai, tokyo, shizuoka, osaka kyoto kobe, fukuoka) as well as over seas in some major cities in asia, europe and the US. plus, all selected works will be shown on the SHIFT magazine web-site starting november 1st, 2011 and will run for the duration of the month long festival, ending november 30th, 2011.
