german architecture photographer felix löchner has revealed this series of captivating photographs of the ‘city library stuttgart’ by eun young architects. the images expose a sparsely furnished, white interior with linear rows of books dotted throughout. taken while the building is devoid of human presence, the abstracted atmosphere enhances the books’ presence as the shelves collectively band together. minimal use of color on the surrounding architectural elements is interrupted by bursts of the bright items lining the walls. the cube-shaped building is organized around the shape of the pantheon, with its library spaces situated above a large central void. highlighting the various circulation and movement patterns across the different levels, the deserted structure is made to seem like a world in its own.
