spanish architectural practice Rstudio has completed the ‘alboraya-palmaret train station’, a renovation of an existing station located in valencia, spain. before entering the monolithic volume, a central park welcomes visitors and becomes perpetually integrated into the traveler’s experience. vegetated areas provide a comfortable waiting and resting area between connections and allowing children to play under the trees.

the internal organization of the station places seven train platforms on different elevational levels, allowing some to have direct vistas of the park or the adjacent vehicular horchata avenue. unexpected double story atriums lined with clerestory windows fill the interiors with natural light, illuminating the platform areas. minimalist concrete platforms present ideal flexible surfaces for long and short term seating or resting.
