Monroe Lamp

Monroe Lamp by toer from netherlands

designer's own words:

The Monrou lamp shows that not only Cars can be beautiful moving objects, lamps can be too.

The lamp shade of the Monrou lamp starts turning when you switch on the light. By the centrifugal force it opens itself. The textile creates a wave form, in which it seems to turn slowly, but actually it moves rather fast. This way it keeps itself in the air.

Our goal with this project is to show that our living environment could have an added value by making it more dynamic. Integrating movement into the daily objects that are surrounding us will make them appear more alive. This way the space around you will be more vivid and lively.
