Face to Face by Dhruv Damle from india
designer's own words:
It started as an academic project at a Kirigami workshop. We took it further to make an interactive installation inspired from slice form modelling and added the curiosity element to it- It is a real size, 3D paper human face that is watching you!
A webcam mounted on the installation detects your face when you stop by. By figuring out the location of your face with respect to the installation, a smart processing algorithm instructs arduino controller to turn the Kirigami face. Yes, the paper face just turns and looks at you, straight into your eyes!
It makes viewers curious as it responds dynamically. amused by this uncanny behaviour of a seemingly inanimate face, the viewer plays around it to see how it reacts back.
