san francisco-based studio mike & maaike continues its collaboration with american design company council with the ‘divis bench’, an extension of their ‘divis’ table also produced by the brand. made from ash, poplar and finished in a variety of colors, the seating unit can be used independently or in combination with a table, expanding on the structural narrative of its planned imperfections, which are used to aid with structural support. ‘divis’ bench is being presented at ICFF new york 2011.
