designer's own words:

The cult of the dead has always been a very important part and represents the evolution of any society. The contemporary society evolved giving birth to generations of digital natives. Internet is the evolution that best characterizes the change of the society of the 21st century, transforming the uses and customs, redefining the concept of space and time. In later 3d printing as a return to craftsmanship through digital. These two factors are and will be the basis of changes in the coming years; the project born from this concept. “Print the Memory” start from cremation not only as an end but as a beginning towards the creation, inspired by 3d printing examples applied to reconstruction of bone or from researches of IAAC regarding printing with sand. So the body ground once again becomes the container and contents, printed with the ashes of the deceased as an additive for solidification. The shape contains a network storage, and varies from a genotype based on variants of: age, date of birth, date of death, male or female, place. Storage is a database of the deceased and of everything he did in life and has published, shared and commented on their social network. So the role of social networks has a commemorative value in which the loved ones can use in order to remember, not a goodbye but a heritage to consult through youtube videos, facebook, twitter ... The space of Final repose thus becomes an enormous digital archive, a library of emotions in which each family member can log in with ID card and relive the life of the deceased, browse inside.
