Coexist Architecture

Coexist Architecture by Huang Ching-Chi from taiwan

designer's own words:

Traditional decorations were applied to the wood-framed pedant lamp to interpret the traditional architectural construction, and the metal frame was used to represent the reinforced structure of today’s architecture, all together, the lamp interprets today’s living environment, whether in the city or the country side of Taiwan, you can find a small traditional temple standing still among skyscrapers, or a majestic temple sitting among bungalows in the country side, such interaction between traditional architecture and modern architecture is visible everywhere throughout Taiwan, and their coexistence might seem grotesque or incongruous, but still it is considered as a unique phenomenon in Taiwan, as time goes by, the original uniqueness of traditional architecture gradually fades, and is replaced by high-rise buildings, thus we should well preserve our cultural assets and endeavor to have it blend with the modern society.
