translating the design of panton chair into a wooden structure, designer matthias brandmaier has sculpted the cantilevered form from a beech tree trunk using a chainsaw. as the classic furniture piece by danish architect verner panton was originally produced in injection molded plastic, the aesthetics of the rough cut wooden panton chair by brandmaier contrasts the sleek and clean lines from its 1960s original.
the method from which it is made, only allows the chair to be realized in small-scale production.
