wanting to explore the neglected details of things in every day life, taiwanese product-designers szuhsuan wu, yeelon lin, yuchien liu, have developed ‘tiny sense’. the project transforms common house-hold items by enlarging them, asking people to examine the object in a different way. the designers believe that the busyness of life in modern society has meant one is always ‘on the go’ rushing from one place to the next, with a feeling that something is missing.. ‘tiny sense’ is based around the idea of slowing down and appreciating the small things in life. through delicate observations using a magnifying glass, little objects are scaled-up and a new purpose imagined. the transformed items are commonly used pieces; pencils are turned into a vase now able to hold flowers, a button functions as a seat and a ruler becomes a full height mirror. the product’s original characteristics – lines, materials and details are still maintained, but a new meaning is created with the hope that subtleties won’t be overlooked any longer.
