The Drop is a simple elegant lamp that has as function providing light, but will also learn people the properties of OLED.

The old lampshade, which has a function of making a point light source into a lighted plane, becomes unnecessary, because the OLED panel gives this lighted plane. The Drop tells this story. The sphere refers to a lampshade, but because it is made of glass it shows that it is not necessary anymore. The OLED panel seems to float, which tells that it is thin and light. The OLED panel seems impressed in the glass sphere, which emphasize the organic features.

The main part of the luminaire is the glass sphere, which can be made by making use of glassblowing in a mould. The other parts can be simple bought-in parts.
The OLED panel is fixed to this sphere with an adhesive strip. The wires are protected with a rubber sleeve and there are joints at the connection parts to prevent the lamp from hanging only on the wires.
