batman’s tumbler car in the dark knight movies debuts as real-life drivable batmobile

Drivable batmobile is batman tumbler car’s functional replica

It’s now possible to own a Tumbler, Batman’s car in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, after Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products and Relevance International launch these ten real-life, drivable batmobiles. The authenticated replicas are full-scale and custom-fit, with body painwork in black. Batman’s tumbler car design stays true to the original model that appears in the movies, including its geometric and spiky shapes.

These drivable Batmobiles are built by Action Vehicle Engineering. They custom-build the interiors based on the preferences of the owners, and each model comes with a unique number as well as proof of authenticity from Warner Bros. Discovery. There’s a catch, though: while Batman’s Tumbler car is functional and driveable, it isn’t street-legal, unfortunately. If the owners have arena-sized personal space, they can probably take it out for a spin. Otherwise, the Batmobile remains a piece of automotive art for the cinematic fans of the DC Comics character.

‘batmobile’ car with jet engine simulation

For the Batman Tumbler car, Action Vehicle Engineering dresses up the interior with bespoke seating trim as well as headlining in black Alcantara and one-way mirrored glass screens. The driver gets a premium GPS on the 10-inch screen, and the fabrication engineer retains the original style dashboard and trim package of the movie’s Batmobile. For the driveable version, the interior can accommodate two people, including the driver, and the seat harnesses are similar to the ones used for five-point racing cars. Owners can also choose their MPH or KM/H gauges.

Specs-wise, the drivable Batmobile comes with a powertrain 6.2L LS3 525 HP engine as well as GM 4L85E transmission with paddle shift. The primary materials that the engineers use include kevlar, carbon fiber, sheet metal, and fiber glass, and the Batman Tumbler car’s frame is made of tubular steel used in aerospace engineering. To deliver the Batmobile feel, there’s a jet engine simulation going on (but without flames). So far, only ten people can own the drivable Batman Tumbler car, and again, it’s worth noting that the Batmobile isn’t street-legal (yet).
