10 years in the making for padrone’s wearable AI mouse ring

Padrone Primera creates a wearable AI mouse ring that fits the index finger and can turn any surface into a laptop or computer touchpad. First introduced in 2018, it has taken the technology team ten years in total to develop the 3D printed and wearable AI mouse ring. In 2024, they’re confident enough to say that they can start releasing the product in May 2025. When the clients receive the ring, they slide it onto their index finger and connect the device to their laptop or computer through a Bluetooth connection.

After that, they just use it as it is, as if they were navigating with a mouse. The technology team says it works just like the mouse does. The index finger is the left button of the mouse, while the middle finger is the right. Users click on their laptop or computer by tapping their index finger onto the surface, and if they want to scroll, they roll their index and middle fingers up or down at once. To move the cursor on the screen, users just move their index fingertip. As for zooming in and out, they need to hold the command or control key and move their index and middle fingers, too.

Wearable AI Mouse ring with motion sensors and camera

The Padrone wearable AI mouse ring works because of the motion sensors and camera with a wide-angle lens installed inside the device. There’s a list of catch that the users need to be aware of, too. The team says that device needs to see the index finger and the desk, so the lighting conditions must be bright enough. It might not work when the room or the surface is dark and on marbled finishes and desks with too many design elements. The accessory device, which isn’t water resistant at the moment, also has 12 processor cores, an LED light for indication, and a magnetic charging connection at the bottom.

It can be recharged in an hour, but the technology team says it can also take less than that. When it comes to typing with the ring on, the team shares that the sensors and camera may detect that the users hands are over the keyboard and pause itself so they can type. The campaign is up (again) for the wearable AI mouse ring, and before shipping it in May 2025, the clients receive a sizing kit first. It has nine plain rings, which are exactly the same size of the device. Users need to try them on to find out what fits them before the team sends out the real device.
