a Cloud kiosk Installation in Burlington’s City Hall Park

Located in Burlington’s historic City Hall Park, The Cloud is a sculptural kiosk designed by Wade and Leta in collaboration with Studio RENZ+OEI. Conceived as both a functional structure and a piece of public art, the installation offers a playful reinterpretation of clouds, blending geometry with the fluid and ephemeral nature of its inspiration. The project originated from a collaboration between the two studios, who sought to develop an unconventional approach for a permanent vending space within the park.

Wade and Leta, and RENZ+OEI reinterpret cloud formations

For the Cloud, the creative duo of Wade and Leta, and Studio RENZ+OEI systematize cloud formations into a geometric form that contrasts with the park’s natural surroundings. Its bright colors and dynamic shape create a sense of movement and lightness, offering a sculptural presence that invites engagement. The kiosk serves as an anchor for a local Vermont-based food vendor, integrating art, architecture, and functionality in a single space. The structure reflects the merging of art and architecture, using a playful design language that contributes to the park’s lively atmosphere. Positioned to activate the public space, The Cloud adds a unique visual element to Burlington’s City Hall Park, enhancing its role as a community hub.
