bandit9’s EVE odyssey motorcycle gets upgraded with a frame shaped like a sniper’s bullet

Bandit9 unveils upgraded EVE odyssey motorcycle

Bandit9 gives its EVE Odyssey motorcycle a makeover with an even slimmer hand-brushed aluminum frame, shaped like a sniper rifle’s bullet. Over the last year, a lot has happened to Daryl Villanueva, the chief at Bandit9. He and his design team pored over improving their space-grade EVE Odyssey made of aluminum used in NASA spacecraft. There’s engineering left and right and finding ways to integrate all the mechanical, electrical, and structural components into a continuous, singular, and in-house developed sculptural body of the motorcycle.

It’s all worth it. Bandit9’s upgraded EVE Odyssey motorcycle comes alive in a refreshed form. It maintains the recognizable bullet-shaped frame, but it’s streamlined to resemble more of a sniper rifle’s bullet than a 9 mm projectile, the design inspiration of its predecessor. The tank is fused to this aluminum frame, engineered and manufactured from scratch. The design team has also concealed the exhaust within the new frame, and a single-sided swing arm flows into the body, finished with Bandit9’s hand-brushed steel emblem milled from a single billet.

Bullet-shaped motorcycle with lots of custom parts

Bandit9 adds a monoshock to the upgraded EVE Odyssey motorcycle to stabilize the vehicle when it takes sharp turns. The design team transforms the front fork, the part of the bike’s front suspension system, into a piece resembling a modern-art sculpture to make it eye-appealing and functional at the same time. It hides the telescopic suspension inside it, which helps make the ride smoother by absorbing bumps on the road. The vehicle runs on a four-speed manual transmission and can reach speeds up to 110 km/h (68 mph), with a mileage of around 156 mpg.

Many of the motorcycle’s parts are custom: its steel clip-on handlebar; aluminum grips, levers, and switches; wide-view mirrors; white LED head and brake lights; and signal indicators. Swapping the regular gas cap with a magnetic one makes it easier to open since the rider no longer needs to twist it. The traditional dials are gone, replaced by a digital speedometer to display ride information. Even the control switches resemble accessories, a bracelet to be exact, sealing the handmade approach to the new EVE Odyssey motorcycle. So far, Bandit9’s EVE Odyssey is available for order and ships worldwide, with the first orders having already been delivered.

a year to develop bandit9’s eve odyssey motorcycle

Bandit9 has taken a year off to develop the EVE Odyssey motorcycle. The design team had to figure out how to unify the tank, seats, signals, and all the other conventionally separate parts on a motorcycle’s frame into a single body with minimal presentation. It’s safe to say that Bandit9 has pulled it off. ‘This is the real magic behind the new EVE,’ says Daryl Villanueva. ‘By creating our own frame, we were not dependent on anyone’s predetermined structures. This is no modified, customized piece. This is a brand new product entirely.’

For Daryl Villanueva, the EVE series is synonymous with Bandit9. It isn’t just a product of the brand but the brand itself. ‘I’m sure we’ll find a way to push things even further. For now, we need a break. The EVE Odyssey is a huge team effort, and I could not be more proud of the people who made it possible. My only wish is that they’re equally proud of the work they’ve done. In my opinion, this is the best piece we’ve ever done, and I think it’s just the beginning,’ the chief says.
