Oppenheim Architecture and Rockwell Island Development Group (RIDGE) have unveiled Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences, a private luxury enclave on the Bahamas’ secluded Bimini island. The project promises refined living amidst pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. The 750-acre development will feature 54 custom waterfront residences, a 50-key boutique hotel, and a Bonito Beach Club. A second phase includes plans for a deepwater superyacht marina, a private 18-hole golf course, and a members’ clubhouse. Situated just 48 nautical miles east of Miami, Bimini offers easy access by seaplane, private jet, helicopter, or boat, so that residents and guests can arrive from major U.S. cities like Miami, New York, and Texas within three hours.

RIDGE has partnered with a renowned team to bring this vision to life, including Oppenheim Architecture and hospitality brand Banyan Tree, who will manage the resort and rental program for private residences. The design team, led by Chad Oppenheim, is known for its minimalist and environmentally sensitive approach. Each waterfront residence will feature five custom layouts, private docks, nearby beach access, and ample indoor/outdoor space. Owners can participate in a rental program managed by Banyan Tree, granting them access to five-star concierge services. Oppenheim Architecture’s design philosophy centers on celebrating the island’s spirit. The firm aims to create timeless homes and bungalows that integrate with the natural landscape.

The development will feature the boutique hotel designed by Oppenheim Architecture and managed by Banyan Tree. The hotel will comprise 24 beachfront villas and 26 overwater bungalows, a first for the Caribbean and a signature offering of the Banyan Tree brand. Residents will have access to the Bonito Beach Club, featuring chef-driven dining, VIP services, private cabanas, yachting and tender services, and other recreational experiences.

RIDGE is actively involved in Bimini’s infrastructure development. It has already established water, sewage, and power facilities and played a role in securing approval for the redevelopment of the South Bimini International Airport. What’s more, a seaplane terminal with customs and immigration is planned, making travel to the resort even more convenient.
