Nude Project’s first flagship store in Lisbon opens its doors, following the openings of stores in Bilbao and Milan, all designed by El Departamento’s creative team. Housed in a typical Portuguese building, behind an eye-catching corner facade, the new 120 sqm Nude Project store’s atmosphere reflects Lisbon’s duality. The flagship store is designed as an exclusive boutique that enhances the brand’s VIP essence, serving the main concept of ‘the backstage of the backstage’. The design features open spaces, velvet-draped walls, curved forms, glossy finishes, and a burst of Nude Project’s corporate colors.

branded facade creates elevated atmosphere in lisbon store

El Departamento, led by architect Alberto Eltini and interior designer Marina Martín, draws inspiration from Lisbon’s unique charm: its Atlantic light, sea breeze, and deeply-rooted culture, always open to innovation. Located downtown and on one of the city’s main commercial streets, the store pays homage to the rich Portuguese architectural imprint and its contemporary aesthetic. Following the backstage concept, the studio used metal frames bearing the brand’s logo on the displays of the imposing facade, creating a space with an elevated atmosphere. Two velvet-draped pillars, complemented by two accessory displays also adorned in velvet, rise to disrupt the potential symmetry of the rectangular open-plan layout and divide the space into two distinct areas.

curved forms and glossy finishes serve the backstage concept

As in each of its projects, the studio has designed custom furniture. A sculptural counter with gentle curves and a chocolate brown color stands as the centerpiece, topped by a large circular screen hovering above it. Voluminous yet light, the rest of the furniture features soft curves as well to achieve a cleaner visual experience. These pieces are coated with glossy finishes which stand out against the natural terracotta tones of the micro-cement floor. The color palette of the furniture elements aligns with the identity of Nude Project. Corporate colors ranging from brown tones to cloud blue hues fill every corner of the space. The brand’s outfits adorn the backdrop of the store, displayed on backlit showcases designed ad hoc in niche form to highlight the products. An organic Krion structure with a soft silhouette defines an exclusive reserved space within the store. Inside it, a velvet sofa serves as a meeting point and a fitting room area is hidden behind long blue curtains.
