HERMÈS CUT – WATCHES AND WONDERS GENEVA 2024

Hermès debuts its new Hermès Cut watch collection at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 against a vibrant scenography curated by New York-based artist Erin O’Keefe. The setting features dynamic, curved sculptures that intricately examine the concept of time’s form. With pristine white surfaces punctuated by bold pops of color, the environment’s clean geometries harmonize with the design of the timepiece collection. The result sees a modernist cave-like structure that immerses visitors in a playful, disorienting experience, challenging their perception of both space and time.

Erin O’Keefe’s Hermès Cut Inspired Installation

The new Hermès Cut collection (find more here) blends sharp-edged profiles with soft lines, creating a timeless design that merges a free-spirited round form with the geometry of the circle. Designed by Philippe Delhotal, the series seeks to express the vivacity of inspiration that is at once innately feminine and universal.

Drawing inspiration from Hermès Cut, Erin O’Keefe’s vibrant structures blend cave art simplicity with modernist sculpture. Through optical illusions and sensory stimulation, her installation challenges visitors to reconsider their understanding of reality, encouraging them to embrace a world of playful disorientation and hidden dimensions. Erin O’Keefe’s installation is described as a tranquil sanctuary amidst the chaotic world, inviting visitors on an inner journey through dreamlike landscapes. It’s a momentary escape from the relentless march of time, allowing one to embrace the serene simplicity of the present moment.

The work taps into experiential memory, the profound recollection that transcends linear time, evoking emotions through subtle triggers like scents or melodies. With her exploration of time and space paradoxes, Erin O’Keefe (find more here) encourages a surrender to the unexpected and a celebration of the fleeting yet weighty nature of time, where each sculpture and watch serves as a portal to an alternate reality.
