the ‘d-construction’ furniture collection by korean designer hyungshin hwang focuses on sustainability in his design work. hwang worked with corrugated cardboard to create a chair with an ecological aesthetic and round-shaped armrests.

in this version, the layers on one side of the chair’s armrest seem to fall apart. this creates an unusual shape which runs contrary to the common expectations. even if the armrest is missing, the chair can be used as a normal seating accommodation, however, offering variations on different leaning positions.
