embossed walls by Geetika from india
designer's own words:
The idea of the project was to find ways to implement patterns/tessellations in space. After research, sketches and analysis it was figured that applying these patterns while building the space would be a proper direction. So I narrowed down the study and selected a tessellation that would appear nice and suitable as an embossed pattern. But, also according to the need of the material, the design was later altered, without loosing the existing feel. Concrete was chosen as the appropriate material as it fit the needs of the design. Also, to make a tile in concrete is viable as the medium supports the design by taking the shape of the mold. Instead of giving fluid lines or textures, I decided to use the material to make a tile with geometric lines, which makes it proper and distinct in concrete, as compared to other materials. On this basis I created the tiles of size 250x250x20 mm.
