presented here are the projects of year one students from the bartlett school or architecture in london. along with their work, the students also compiled a video documenting their academic experience of their first year. the program’s focus was to explore ‘ways of seeing’; understanding and interpreting objects/events/places and learning to look beyond the visible into the unseen and ‘absurd’ qualities of things. the importance of ‘character’ and personality was emphasized to students throughout the design process whether it concerned analysis, site interpretation or architectural vision.
