‘frog leap bench’, carlos zapata

saporiti italia has once again invited international architects and designer for a show during milan design week. this year, they have requested five designers to interact alongside the NODE2010 electronic music festival.

marti guixé (barcelona), mauro lipparini (florence), ministry of design (singapore), UdA (turin) and carlos zapata (new york) have collaborated to create one single long bench, divided into five different segments for a total surface of 100 meters. each designer’s work is linked to the next by a junction that allows the visitors to cross the extremely long installation and, at the same time, permits each object and designer to be identified.

saporiti italia will also present two additional projects. ‘B.A.R.’ a temporary installationby mari guixè and ‘all the world is a stage’, a storage system for everyday objects by ministry of design.

‘B.A.R.’ represents guixè’s vision of food sites as a place to socialize and connect with others. with this in mind, he creates with a few designs and graphic elements a functional and warm space, mixing in thoughtful anthropological observations with a touch of humour.
