dutch designer pepe heykoop is presenting brick series inside [d3] design talents at imm cologne 2010. the starting point of the series was a drawing made by james gulliver hancock. heykoop loved the image immediately, particularly the chair in the top left corner of the piece and interpreted the drawing into bricks. a small evolution, the brickseries project is about interpretation and imagination constructed from wooden bricks which most children build their world’s from.

brickchandelier image © designboom
following the construction of the brick chair, heykoop started building the brickchandelier to test out the different possibilities of his building material. the chandelier reaches over 2 meters and is constructed from more than 1500 bricks, weighs 30 kg and stretches 270 cm wide.
brickseries will soon be taken into production by furnism.
