‘coquetier’ egg holder by paolo ulian
the work of italian designer paolo ulian, ‘coquetier‘ is an egg holder, designed to be poised over ordinary household plates for use when eating or cracking hard and soft-boiled eggs. in this way, the plate itself continues to be used to serve accompanying foods or to collect the eggshell fragments.
composed of steel, ‘coquetier’ is produced for the italian design house basile arteco. a ‘collector’ edition of the egg holder is packed into a wooden box, whereas the standard distribution is packaged in cardboard.
