swedish designer johan kauppi of we think has designed a new headstone aiming to integrate the process of mourning and remembering. ‘luohkka’, which means, ‘small mountain with trees‘ in sami, provides a space for a seedling to grow. visitors have the option of cherishing the stone marker in their own individual way.

produced by naturstensbolaget, the headstones are made entirely from magnetite, a durable type of stone found in kiruna, sweden.
