alfa romeo has long been an authentic icon. it has interacted with its times, mobilizing attitudes
and giving them new life with its presence. currently on show at la triennale di milano is an exhibition
entitled ‘il segno alfa’ which illustrates the history and impact the alfa romeo has had on the automotive industry,
aiming to trace the presence and interaction of the car against the backdrop italy’s social and cultural life.
the idea of the exhibition is to show more than just the industry and technology of the car.
within the individual rooms, each one dedicated to a decade, the physical cars on display engage in a
dialogue with accompanying photographs and posters of cars in settings that illustrate their historical times.
each gallery includes a short compilation film taken from documentaries, newsreels and movie clips.
the exhibition is curated by francesco cassetti.
