designboom’s friends household in collaboration with swedish illustrator sara melin will be organizing a poundshop for the london design festival between september 18th – 26th, 2010. wanting to bring the ultimate low cost, fun shopping experience, the poundshop will sell designer products at a sale price of one pound!
for the planned event, household needs:
-amazing products for wide ranging uses and hobbies. for example: jewellery, clothing, stationery, kitchenware, self-publishing, items from far off places etc. -the product has to be designed by you -the item(s) must be desirable/sellable/durable value for money objects. usage is key! -it can be any size, cheap doesn’t have to mean small. -it must be able to retail for £1 only. please consider that you should make a profit yourself.
the poundshop will:
-provide a beautifully designed retail outlet in central london. -have helpful friendly staff to sell your goods -advertise you on their blog, website and insure press coverage
how to take part
email household your one-pound-product-proposal by thursday september 12th, 2010 (a short description plus a drawing/photo). for successful submissions a £17 participation fee plus 10% commission fee will apply.
