‘cinéma solaire‘ is a solar powered mini open air cinema, developed by swiss graphic and new media atelier reizvoll over the period of 4 years. with 2 bikes and 2 trailers, they collected sunlight during the summer days in switzerland, conserved it into light-saving containers and was later emitted through an old 16mm cinematograph at night.

the screen is setup using ropes affixed to trees or existing poles. audiences are asked to bring their own chairs, pillows and ‘sofas’. due to the lightweight design and the ability to gather power via the sun, reizvoll is able to organize open air happenings in the remotest locations.
