‘me in wonderland’ installation
super nature is a shanghai-based collective specializing in interactive environments and media installations. through light projections and interactive technology, super nature creates worlds that draw the viewer in and engages them to experience a playground of ideas, emotions and memories. in their converse-commissioned piece, ‘me in wonderland‘, the team creates an orbit of children’s playthings cast in white paint such as rocking horses, old television monitors and tricycles to represent the blank slate of childhood. this is juxtaposed against a floating carousel with lights above, setting the stage for an interactive experience complete with a gramophone standing in the center encouraging viewers to step inside and shed their adult inhibitions, all the while recording themselves along the way.
