hong kong architectural firm cheungvogl just sent designboom images of their latest project ‘standpunkt’. literally translated from german meaning ‘standing point’, it is an ensemble of sculptural furniture, merging the lines between functional objects and art forms. the design is intended to replace a common bar stool. it features a subtly shaped polished aluminum seat and a ‘third hand’, supported by a z-shaped stainless steel slender base.
‘standpunkt’ is a functional art installation – art to use, to see, to touch.
'there is no real, defined space, there’s just the reflection’ – designboom speaks with Hermès artistic directors charlotte macaux perelman and alexis fabry.
