‘case 5’ by adeela suleman (2008)contemporary pakistani artist adeela suleman uses mundane household objects as her medium when creating her sculptural works. suleman’s metallic sculptures are made up of steel drain covers, tongs, hardware, measuring spoons and cooking utensils which she transforms into skeletal-like pieces. the materials she uses may appear cold and sterile, but have a certain sensuality about them through the softer, more curvaceous forms she creates.
adeela’s work is currently a part of a group exhibition:
tradition, technique, technology – II
at: aicon gallery, palo alto
from: july 18 – august 30, 2008
