‘legolize it‘ is a personal project of fabien bouchard, creator of art and design blog ufunk, and french artist mademoiselle maurice: a self-portrait series where a LEGO figure’s head stands in for the face. the photographs were shot without special effects or post-production montage; chosen to be displayed as polaroids because of the nostalgic feel of both this photography form and LEGOs. in the words of the artists, ‘legolize it’ is ‘a way to not forget our childhood, and remember that everyone has a LEGO piece inside.‘
the largest exhibition dedicated to the artist in france is now on view at the grand palais in paris, bringing together large-scale installations, sculptures, photographs, drawings, performance videos and archive documents.
