sketchy miami is a collaborative art project that has one goal in mind: to create a portrait of every person in miami. created by local natives robby campbell and jordan melnick as a sister site to their culture blog, beached miami, the online initiative seeks to facilitate the relationship between local artists and residents, re-establishing a stronger sense of exchange in the act of creation.
anyone living in miami is encouraged to send in a photograph of themselves where local artists – or anyone who considers themselves an artist – will create a portrait from that image. ranging in likeness, skills, inventiveness, and medium, the collective art project illustrates the city’s creativity, drawing from the diverse nature of the people as a source of endless inspiration.
