the illustrations on display which originally featured in the magazine, were spotted across the pages to demonstrate the magazines’ section on the life of a modern gentleman. themes ranged from the practical to the more adventurous: starting up your own bank, surviving in the wild, writing a will, what not to do on a date, and handy hints on fitness. james developed a pictogram style for non-frills simplicity to interpret these stories visually and create a sense of continuity throughout the series. for his second solo show in london at house of propellers, james has selected his favourite pieces, producing a set of limited edition screen prints.
