water-gen system literally draws clean drinking water out of thin air

israeli company water-gen has built three water generating machines which create and harvest condensation. the system works by using a set of plastic ‘leaves’ to funnel air in different directions, which as a result creates pure water out of nothing.

water-gen produces 825 gallons of water a day using their biggest machine, and 4 gallons using their smallest which is intended for home and office settings. it is estimated that the water generated will cost less than ten cents per gallon at the current energy price. the overall aim is to introduce this type of technology in areas that are warm and humid as well as places which do not have drinkable tap water.

‘what’s important for us is to bring water to the people. this is a basic human right.’ says maxim nasik, the chairman of water-gen. water gen is currently carring out a set of field tests in cities like mumbai, shanghai and mexico city, and are expecting to launch some of their products in 2017.
