developed by geneva-based designer khalil klouche, the interactive wooden calculator for children uses playful knocking sounds to answer mathematical equations. originally exhibited during ‘touch!’ at lausanne’s museum of design and contemporary art in 2012, the project, ‘knock knock’, uses an arduino board, contact microphones, and solenoid components to solve problems.the installation responds when users ‘knock’ out a calculation on device surface, ‘knocking’ back with the answer.
