chinese-based winsun 3D prints six-story apartment & mansion buildings

progressing upon the technology used to construct 10 homes from 3D printed recycled concrete, the shanghai-based company, winsun decoration design engineering co., have unveiled their fabricated six-story apartment building and mansion creations. the complex alone is approximately 1,100 square meters in size and further strengthens the group’s globally leading manufacturing image.

the large scale structures were produced, piece-by-piece, using an offsite machine measuring 7m tall, 10m wide and 40m long, and then put together at the suzhou industrial park. a specially formulated ink which is made up of concrete, fiberglass, sand and a hardening agent, is used as it is flexible, self-insulating and is resistant to strong earthquakes. according to the association, this efficient construction method saves 60% of the materials, 70% of the time and 80% of the labor needed when compared to building a typical home, and are aiming to establish many affordable homes across china, in the future.
