boeing business jets announces it will work in collaboration with GKN aerospace’s fokker company in creating the ‘skyview’ panoramic window, offering passengers an expanded view of the world. spanning across 54.5 inches by 19.5 inches in boeing’s aircraft, the ‘skyview’ is more than three times wider than a standard window and about 40 percent taller.

boeing business jets can install up to four skyview windows can be installed on each aircraft. GKN aerospace first set of 1.5 meter long x 0.5 meter high acrylic windows are demisting, featuring a patented ‘crystal vue II’ coating. the ultra-wide window is created by joining three existing ‘737’ windows together. situated aft of the wing with multiple potential locations based on the airplane type, it offers customers an unparalleled perspective.

the window will be available as a retrofit feature on the boeing business jet, boeing business jet ‘2’, plus all three members of the BBJ ‘max’ line-up – including the new BBJ ‘max 7’ – with delivery scheduled for 2018.
