swiss design studio bernhard burkard has developed a unique speaker for hong kong based brand OYO – objects you obsess. the device shape is conceived as a perfect sphere with no actual stand. the ‘ballo speaker’ lays, rolls or hangs for a 360 degree music experience as a colorful belt fuses two hemispheres,protecting the speaker and increasing the bass tones when placed on a surface.
equipped with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, the ‘ballo’ becomes compatible with most audio devices using a standard 3.5mm jack used for headphones. when connected, the speaker turns on automatically. as the audio output is singularly mono, stereo sound can be achieved when two ballo’s are connected to stereo wire.
