designboom recently traveled to munich for the international driving presentation of the new AUDI RS 6 avant to experience the latest variation of the high-performance four-door wagon. equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8 TFSI engine, the RS 6 produces 560 horsepower and 516.29 lb-ft of torque, taking it from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds. paired with an eight-speed tiptronic, the automatic transmission shortens shift times for smoother and precise gear changes. developed and built by quattro gmbh, the vehicle features permanent all-wheel drive with a redesigned center differential for efficiently performing in any given terrain.

manufactured out of a hybrid aluminium body, the RS 6 weighs nearly 100 kilograms (220.46 lb) less than its predecessor and incorporates trademark rs-specific design elements, which are highlighted in both the newly sculpted body and interior. the exterior sees the introduction of re-designed xenon plus headlights and led tail lights, accentuating its high-gloss black protective grille, bumpers and extended sills and wheel arches.

inside the sporty black cockpit, users will find refined leather bucket seats with integrated head restraints, which complements the RS-specific flat-bottomed three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. trim elements include aluminum or piano finishes, illuminated door sill trims and decorative carbon inlays to accentuate the experience.
