Twister - the nutcracker.

This project was born as a remedy for opening nuts in a more practical way.
With the use of normal nutcrackers, you will most likely destroy the nut along whit the shell.
The idea is simple:
The nutcracker is composed of two parts, one compartment for holding the nuts and one for placing on the top which is then screwed in order to breack the nuts.
The shattering mechanism is given simply by screwing the parts together, this enables the mechanism to create a perfectly controlled forced pressure without using any effort to crush the fruit.
With just half a turn, the nuts are shelled.
Twister can shatter up to 3 nuts or 5 hazelnuts at the same time.
This quick easy action lets you eat more! ;-P

Ceramic materials are ideal for the production of this nutcracker: low friction, toughness and hard wearing, makes it an ideal household utensil.
Twister is entirely made of Alumina by means of “slip casting” and then worked on by tools and machinery to obtain the threads.
